Ya Allah, Ya Rabbe Kareem, ya Allah we have wronged ourselves, Ya Allah You showered the most incredible blessing upon us, You made us amongst the Ummat-e- Mustafa sallal Laaho aleihi wa aliehi wasallam, Ya ALlah You granted us this incredible honor to be a follower of the Last and greatest Messenger, the greatest of all of Your creation, Ya Allah Ya Rabbe Kareem, Ya Allah we have wronged ourselves, We have allowed ourselves to become distant from his Sunnah, Ya Allah we have allowed ourselves to be distant from his seerah, Ya Allah we have allowed ourselves to be distant from his sifaat-e- Mouminana, Ya Allah Ya Rabbe Kareem, Ya Allah we ask You to restore to us his naboo’at, and to restore us to our ummati-ness, Ya Allah we ask You to make us amongst his Kaamil followers, amongst his Kaamil inheritors, Ya Allah Ya Rabbe kareem we want to meet the Prophet sallalaaho aleihi wa alihi wasallam in such a state on the day of judgement that we are able to recognize him, and that he is able to recognize us, that we are able to lay claim to him, and Ya Allah that he himself lays claims to us as his ummati, Ya Allah we ask You to grace us by having the shifa of Rasool Allah sallalaaho aleihi wa aalihi wasallam, let him intercede for us on that day, let us get a place on his ranks and his sahfoof in his rows on the day of judgement, Ya Allah ya Rabbe Kareem, let us get a place in his shade on the day of judgement, and let us get a place in his shade in Jannah for all of the Aakhira for the ever lasting after life, Ya Allah Ya Rabbe Kareem, we ask You to Guide us to the path of the Sunnah, the way of the Sunnah, the teachings of the Sunnah, the lifetime of the Sunnah, the emotions of the Sunnah, and the mentality of the Sunnah, Ya Rabbe Kareem we ask you to restore to us this identity of being his follower, Ya Allah we ask you to increase our love for the Prophet Muhammad sallal laaho aleihi waalihi wasallam, our love as the love as his Sahaaba-e- karaam raziAllahtaAlah anhu, our love for all of those who love him, our love for all of those who were beloved to him, our love for each and everyone of his actions, anyone and each one of his statements, each and everyone of his feelings, Ya Allah Ya Rabbe Kareem, we ask You to accept our Dua, we ask You to drown us into the Sunnah, from the tips of our hair, to the soles of our feet, from the outermost part of our skin, to the depth and inner most core of our being, Ya Allah we ask You to drown us into the Sunnah life, in the Sunnah way.

Reflect on this..

Sometimes we lose hope in turning to God and asking for His help because we feel like we have done too much wrong. And yet think of a child who has just angered his mother and immediately after trips and falls on the stairs. Even if that child had just angered his mother to tears, the moment he falls and cries for help, she runs to him. This is human mercy.

And God is infinitely more merciful than a mother is to her child. So, do you think–no matter what you’ve done–when you’re falling and cry out to the *most* merciful…He wouldn’t come save you?

Anger: the negative force

Image

The message above was tweeted by Boona Mohammed back in February 2012 and I loved it! I re-tweeted it and posted it on my networks to share.. 2 days ago, I came across a colleague of mine and there was that word mentioned during the conversation and I very reluctantly sunk deep… and deeper into that thought which I had with utmost difficulty managed to lose track of! And yet, when the word was brought up again, I couldn’t resist indulging back into those disturbing thoughts.

Anger. One word short of Danger. So it is!

Anger blocks out the human sense and takes over the mind and heart and keeps spreading throughout till it eventually takes over the whole body, and once that happens, one has the power and capacity to hurt another.. with words, actions or even physically. Anger is dangerous on more levels if one realizes that not just others, it makes one sensitive and susceptible to getting hurt with the same force as well. The truth is that at the end of the day, anger does cool off. Whatever that takes over the body and soul of the being as anger, does bid adieu. Anger carves itself a place to adjust.. and when it departs, it leaves an empty space.. a hole in the soul.. and all one is left with is remorse of the much conveniently questionable .. “what ifs?”

Till about a couple of years back, I did not know I had so much anger within me. When I am angry, I later realize how different I have become from the person I was.. it is because I have started to let worldly things, factors and people effect me. I have come across many angry people in the course of my existence that make me wonder if it is even remotely possible for one to be free of anger.. only if we ponder and question ourselves in isolation, is there really such a thing as an angry person?  Do we really get angry and do hurtful things to others and ourselves with an evil intention? Well you’d be judged anyway but that’s a different story 🙂 And we gradually begin to comprehend the supporting factors to this emotion that we call anger. We realize that all of us, each and every one of us is fighting a battle of sorts; if only there were a way to stop ourselves being taken over by such a negative emotion..

I don’t know which blog the following text belongs to, but it made complete sense..

There is so much that we are and so much that we aspire to be, that it is a shame for us to define ourselves by the very emotion that smothers our voices and only extends hurt, fear, and pain to others, especially our spouses and children.

There is a reason why the wise remind us time and again: ghussa haram hai.. (Anger is forbidden)..

May 19, 2012

Let go of your grudges. Let the bitterness die tonight. Make a decision today that it’s time to move on. And begin again. New, this time. Never forget that what has passed you by was never meant to befall you. And what has befallen you, was never meant to pass you by. Know that sometimes Allah withholds from you, in order to give you something better. Keep your heart focused on Him, and He will take care of the rest. And remember: you will stumble, but that’s part of the path. Keep going. Keep rising, and refuse to give up.

*gossip >gheebah : Backbiting; Gheebah or backbiting means speaking about a Muslim in his absence and saying things that he would not like to have spread around or mentioned. Buhtaan or slander means saying things about a Muslim that are not true, or in other words telling lies about him. Nameemah or malicious gossip means telling one person what another said in order to cause trouble between them.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful”
[al-Hujuraat 49:12]

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:
Whoever wrongs a person by slandering him, backbiting about him or insulting him, then repents, Allaah will accept his repentance, but if the one who was wronged finds out about that, he has the right to settle the score. But if he slandered him or backbit about him and the person did not hear of that, then there are two views according to the scholars, both of which were narrated from Ahmad, the more correct of which is that he should not tell him that he spoke against him in his absence. It was said that he should rather speak well of him in his absence just as he spoke badly of him in his absence, as al-Hasan al-Basri said: the expiation for gheebah is to pray for forgiveness for the person about whom you backbit.
Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 3/291

 And Allaah knows best.

Colors of Hope!

I often pass by Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s mazaar and notice people from all kinds of classes right outside, sitting on the footpath, with their palms open at the mercy of the wise, wide-eyed old men, wrinkles on each one of those faces telling a thousand and one stories of their own.. I was reminiscing my drive through that narrow- crowded road after I received a morning text from a friend of mine in which he shared an Indian Proverb, that read as follows:

“Your future does not depend on the lines of your hands, because people who do not have hands also have a future”.

How true! Though I found this study quite interesting at one point in time, I am now pretty much against these horoscopes and palmistry kinda activities based on religious grounds purely.

Anyway, here’s meee meeeee meeee, jotting down some scattered thoughts in this otherwise CRM- terms- filled head of mine, that I’d decided to share this morn here, and which actually gives me an opportunity to appreciate another great effort by another one of my dear x-colleagues and friend, Alishah Chagani.

Quoting *anonymous*, so when was the last time you appreciated a kid? I just did! NOW! 🙂

The “Do Something Now” Campaign!

Winters are here! I personally love the weather and being my birth month, December is naturally my favorite month of the year! 🙂

A few months ago, when Pakistan was afflicted with Floods on a humongous scale, it had become next to impossible for most of us, not just as Citizens of the same Country, but also as mere humans living on the safe side to lead lives as normal people. I shall not speak of others. I personally felt guilty if I even enjoyed so much as a “happy laugh moment” with my friends.. because, at the back of my mind I knew.. while I live on calm, there must be someone out there crying for help, while we enjoyed a Sunday brunch with folks on a day highlighted with a bit of the beautiful drizzle, there was probably someone drenched with a gazillion miles flooded ahead waiting, praying, hoping.. to be rescued. I hadn’t exactly lost my appetite, and I certainly wasn’t losing weight, just that, the thought at times that families out there were depending on the government and some noble communities to feed on! Well that’s where we were introduced to the trend of collections & donations. I participated and contributed with family, relatives and friends, and that’s when I came to know about Freaks! I am actually proud to know them personally! 🙂 These cool people are actually from my circle of friends & colleagues at work!

Well Freaks is at it again!

This time around, they are collecting blankets for the needy lot! I shall post updates as soon as I have them for those of who would like to contribute for the great cause!

Here is a little intro from their Website:
